OMG I want to be a labor and delivery nurse too. I was talking about it a few months ago. I am planning on going back to school after my girls are in school.

That is awesome. I loved my experience with the actual Delivery of my son. So I would love to experience that everyday. the Feeling of a baby being born into this world. Its amazing.

I went to nursing school 3 years ago I graduated in 2007. I am now a cardiac nurse.

That is awesome. i have no idea what it takes to be a labor and delivery nurse. But right now I am not going to let that stop me. the only thing stopping me at this point in a small thing called lots of money. lol. thanks for the comment.

@ashleprince Labor and delivery is def a unit where they don't hire a lot because many nurses like it there and once they are there they stay there. Mother baby is even harder to get into everybody likes that unit. I said when I got out of school this is what I wanted to do but there were no jobs available at the time. So I fell in love with cardiac. Once you get some experience L&D is easier to get into. But sometimes they hire right out of school just depends on the need.

Well around here, Its so small of communities. That I am sure that I could get a job there. But I don't know we will see when that time comes.

I have 5 kids and have had 2 in the nicu.. I used to want to be a vet but I'm so glad like you said that i made the choices that I did because I wouldn't be who I am today or with who I am.. I have a goal now to be a nurse in the nicu at loma linda here in Cali.. I know sense I've experienced it twice I can help other parents alot..

after Gabe I wanted to be a NICU nurse...alot of things I want to do I dont know if I can because of my Cerebral Palsy...
