  • Hi - not a copy of antique fabric but made from real assuit veils (also called tulle bi telli). And Juliana did train with Suraya. I made a dress myself but it's scary cutting up such wondeful fabric!

  • the dress is made of a copy of the antique egyptian fabric assiut and I believe this was used in Suraya Hilals shows "Colors of Cairo or Divine rites. The coreography is also very similar to Hilals style so I think the dancer here got her ispiration from Suraya, beautiful music & dance, I just love this way of baladi.

  • Ive just seen Juliana wear the same costume but in orange, gorgeous. Must have been made for Hilal dancers for performance?

  • I have a video with Suraya Hilal wearing that very costume, lucky girl, I lurrve that costume.

  • i luv it
