On the August 3, 2010 ballot in St. Louis County, voters were asked if they wanted to change the county charter allowing voters to elect the St. Louis County Assessor. Nearly 75% of the voters said yes. That vote took from the County Executive the power to appoint the Assessor and vested it with the people. St. Louis County voters will have their first chance to elect a County Assessor on April 5, 2011. On January 12th, the Republican Party chose L.K. Chip Wood as its candidate. The next day, January 13th, the Democrat Party chose Jake Zimmerman. Conversation with Lee Presser is a weekly half hour television program seen for over ten years in the St. Louis market on Charter Cable TV.
Chip Wood has demonstrated that he is the best qualified candidate for the St. Louis County Assessor office by his real-estate background, professional ethics and dive to service the public. Chip will do what it takes to improve the appraisal and appeal system. Maybe not a politician, but who wants a politician for this job.
