Thoreos, Joe's outburst was rude. Standing up for something one believes in is great. Standing up for something which well financed lobbyists ask you to believe in is legalized bribery. Not knowing the difference between the two is the problem with America's government which only serves the ultra powerful and itself. France spends 6% on healthcare, the US 17%. I love freedom of speech. I never said, and never would say that the congressman shouldn't be allowed to say those things. However, in my view the freedom of speech means that we should all stand up for what we believe, and I believe that Wilson's shout wasn't based in knowledge but in prejudice against the president. So I will exercise my right to criticize him.

I hate it when anybody equates criticism with an attempt to silence. Only people with no good arguments say that.

Freedom of speech is just what it is, Freedom of speech, but because it's so broad, I suppose this freedom includes those other freedoms of ignorance, studpidity, and narrow mindedness that Joe "Say Anything, Do Anything - What an idiot" Wilson displayed. Yes it's good to stand up for what you believe alright, but it's his kind of beliefs that has our state of South Carolina at the top of the list when it comes to embarrament and negativety and at the very bottom in terms of positive things.
