  • Uh oh x) I've finished the ribbing and it's looks pretty good but somehow I've ended up with a couple more stitches than I was supposed to.... Is that bad? If so, what do I do? Thanks ^-^

  • @Juggerknot420 If you've wound up with extra stitches, knit another round and do two decreases where the extra stitches are -- do two knit two stitches together is the easiest way.

  • @terryknits Even though I ended up with more stitches it came out looking like your ribbing... If I do the body with the extra stitches won't it just effect the size?

  • @Juggerknot420 The pattern is in multiples of 8 stitches. If you have an extra 3 stitches, the pattern won't turn out correctly.

  • What kind of cast on did you do? Also when you slip the first stitch is it knit-wise or pearl-wise?

  • @Juggerknot420, I use a long tail cast on, starting out with a tail with about 1 inch per stitch cast on. I slip the first stitch purl wise but I'm not sure it really makes a difference because you will join it with the last stitch

  • @terryknits i guess the problem may come from where you fetch the yarn to start knitting. I have discovered that only by starting with the wool "inside' and not with the yarn which ends on top of the skein, do I avoid the terrible knotting and twisting while i knit. Pick up and small tangle right from the center of the "ball" and pull. untangle that little bit of mess to find the very beginning of the yarn, start casting and knitting. Bonne chance...

  • How would you decrease?

  • Wonderful tutorial. Reading the pattern didn't intimidate me as much as it would have! The hat is impressive, too!

  • Great tutorial. Lovely hat nice project.
