  • john barry's music touches my spirt and heart. some times it hurts to listen. you grow older your circle of friends, family grows smaller. i find myself grieving more and more, for my lost youth, loss of time, energy. you have memories, and you grieve for what was. you look out at a world in which you do not even recognize, then yearn for yesterday, but all you have is today. when i listen to john barrys music i see what was, and in a little corner of my soul, i feel loved. .

  • Thank you SO much for posting this. I've loved this gem for years and have turned on others to it too.

  • @7252christian Amen. You have said it all.

  • John Barry was a master of putting into music the diverse emotions depicted in so many movies. This piece never fails to move me. It seems that some themes are nearly universal: the desire to go back in time and re-live our formative teen years. If only we knew then what we know now. And what decisions have the most profound effects on how our lives evolve. And the importance of our relationships with our fellow man. How hard so many of us try to bring this wisdom to our own children!

  • I love this score. It always reminds me of my parents and how much I miss them both.

  • Beautifully said, 7252christian. Although the movie is flawed technically, the theme is timeless...if only we could revisit the past and those we loved and miss, and make better choices. Unlike Happy Days, this movie portrayed the Fifties as I remember it. And John Barry's music expresses without words the conflicting emotions of reliving a time of innocence and expectation. My alltime favourite "return to the past" movie.

  • This and Somewhere In Time is my Mums favourite theme :) I love you Mum, and I will always connect you to this theme..

I tried showing it to her on here, but she had to stop in case she cried XD bless her :)

Thank you for posting, I'd give anything to go back for one day...

  • Gorgeous tune and a great movie. I'd love to go back in time and change things, too.

Change the past, change the future.

  • Beautiful score...great movie. Think I'll go out and buy it this weekend.
