First off I have to say that I bought this set as well as all his other instructional videos. I'm not being paid for this and I'm not getting anything in return. Now on to the review!!

keep in mind this set, like all the sets I have purchased is not professionally replicated and pressed its done on what appears to be a set top dvd recorder. most likely these were originally on VHS and transferred over. Even with that the information in this set is remarkable.

Again John Cooksey has out done himself. There is over 500! yes you read that right 500 techniques on this 2 disc set. He shows you angles, set ups, techniques, lighting even interviews with top broadcast professionals. This is another one of those finds that each and every time you watch it you'll learn something new. and just in case you forget something, he gives you a cheat sheet with the most important shots and techniques as well as a chapter guide so you can go straight to the section you need.. This is a must have if you're serious about becoming the best videographer you can be.

  • Worthless and uninformative. Why don't you say something useful, techniques, lighting, shot angle, f-stop, almost anything would help, but you critique without helping anyone

  • I'm sorry you don't understand the intent here. I just did a review of it.. (see the description!) They are very well made videos. If you want to know more about "techniques, lighting, shot angle, f-stop" Then why not buy the dvd's? I think It is "useful" to people, I'm letting them know where to get good information that they might not otherwise know where to look. Have a great day!

  • good job I think you also need to study still photographers to get ideas on motion shots as a subject matter. I was a still photographer for many years and what I see will be incorporated into my motion shots. The tools are quite different with tacking and follow focus etc which will make your work really come alive and interesting for the viewer to understand your story concept. The thing is is to think outside of your standing position and be aware of what your eyes and brain want to see

  • I just saw this youtube, That is so nice to get positive free promotion for the videos. .. These people need to keep in mind that you are making money at your craft and they are not. With that closed attitude they couldn't be. Thanks so much again- keep in touch -John Coooksey Elite Video

  • you chat shit! by the sounds of it YOU think you know it all and you need to sit back and stop talking like you're all that.

  • The team at Elite Video did wonders with their DSLR DVD I bought. Learned a whole slew of things about my camera AND great tips on shooting. I can just imagine how wonderful this video set is as well. Can't go wrong with Elite Video.

BTW I am a customer and receive nothing for my comment here.
