I think its probably the patches. I was just playing with the Ion after not using it for a while and it still sounds amazing. It might also be a matter of turning down the effects which tend to be fairly cold. I got the Ion when it was first released and used it in a couple of projects to good effect. I think the punch of some sounds is unrivaled unless maybe you have a moog. I like the idea of small synths nestled in the rig for live playing, hence the miniak micron interest.

Hey all the sounds you made were done live on the spot? Like the beat and background. Seems like you got 4 sounds going at once.

@Fireblaze15 thanks for your interest, I'm controlling the apreggiators / sequences with my left hand. The repeating parts you hear are played by the machine alone, I mostly transpose them or change to a different pattern e.g. other drums. In the beginning I'm playing the bass manually and then switch on the arp, during the song I keep controlling it though. The "lead organ" is completely played with the other hand then.

I have an Ion and I swear the Micron and Miniak seem slightly warmer. Not a fan of the arps on the Ion and so one of the small siblings is tempting especially with the sequencing.

@jeffgibbstc I owned a Micron and now a Miniak but unfortunatelly never an Ion. One of my friends owns an Ion and recently got a Miniak, he also happens to be sound engineer, I'll try to get his opinion on this topic!
So far I couldn't tell any difference in warmth or sound between the Micron and the Miniak, though some patches sound different because the Miniak has the same names for programs but some of them have been changed.

Very nice work. Is the drum machine, sequencer aspect better on the Miniak than the Micron?

@jeffgibbstc they are 100% the same, the Miniak is exactly the same as the Micron software wise.
