  • Master V. did you modify the 12 strikes to make it easier for beginers? Just curious...because i know even Doce Pares has a modified system as well.

  • Answering for Master V can be tricky but I have to tell you McGrath has his own version and GT Gaje teaches a slightly different version than when he was teaching Master V 30 - 40 years ago you see. Master V is clear that we don't change anything and insists that this was the way he was taught. we believe him. The second tempelet may look more familiar to you if we ever get it on film. This is Master V's Pekiti Tirsia as taught to him by GT Gaje. Not PTKI or PTKGO. Guro Michael

  • Was Master V trained by Tuhon Gaje? If not, who was he trained by? I have never seen the 12 attacks in PTK done that way...also, the definition of PTK is "to cut into small pieces up close" or something to that effect...not an "entry" as was described in this video. At least that is what I was taught....by Tuhon Gaje....

  • Anyway, as far as PTK means "the entry" Master V is not saying that the definition of PTK is the entry, he is saying that it means that the entry it a specific way as opposed to other styles that have different entries. had we filmed or edited this clip we would have included the segment where the actual definition is given. I believe that the literal definition is Close Quartering, but cut into little pieces does sound better. LOL.

  • Master V, you are one of the wisest and most thorough of many instructors on the internet. What people do not understand is that you are training PKT to young students on a level they can understand - its the first lessons in PKT. Thank you for all you have taught me Master V.

  • thank you so much for your clear answers it is much appreciated for all who practice the older systems and the new. Its good to know the history of things so that people withing ptk can clearly understand. I'm sure modifications over time were made to suit the needs of those teaching and from their experiences which is different for everyone and it is what all teachers do. I am glad Master V is true to what he learned and keeps it as he remembers it.

  • rest in peace dad. "always the shepard never a sheep."

  • He will forever be apart of us.

  • look how healthy he was a year ago.. i miss this.

  • Was Master V given the rank of instructor by Grand Tuhon Gaje? Just curious.

  • Ok, now I am confused. "...he is saying that it means that the entry it a specific way as opposed to other styles that have different entries..."????? PTK is defined, as per Grand Tuhon Leo T. Gaje "To cut into small pieces, up close".

From what I saw in this short clip, it does not seem that what Master V was teaching in this seminar had anything to do WHATSOEVER with Pekiti Tirsia Kali. Another style perhaps, but not PTK. The numbering system he shows is DEFINITELY NOT PTK.
