In my imagination, Miranda rides alone because she has some phobia of small spaces and doesn't want anyone to see her struggle. At the same time it adds to her image. There isn't a straightforward answer, though.

@FreshDFan95 it was kinda based on Anna Wintour. She doesnt like someone to be with her when she is on elevator, unless you are her assistant or body guard. But if does not do, maybe Miranda is just PRIMADONA :)
