It's good to regularly test run auto-start gensets to be sure everything is operating properly, especially getting closer to winter. On my set-up, there is a 10 second start delay to ignore very brief power interuptions, then a 1min 30sec warm-up prior to switch over to generator power, and a 3min cool-down after power is restored.

  • What is that for? I've seen MBTA has a new Diesel Genset Switcher on the train motor..

  • @punkboy459 This genset is used to provideback-up power for a greenhouse operation.

  • Yes the GL is the silent series with the fully enclosed cabinet and sound proof insulation.

Maintenance is inexpensive, other than regular oil changes, and replaced the antifreeze a couple times, all that I had to replace was the battery once in the last 10 years.

  • Automatic window open!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Very nice machine. How many phases are?

  • Isn't the GL supposed to be the super silent type?

I'm thinking about getting the GL9500 in about a month.

    Is the maintenance expensive?

  • Thanks,me too! It was a good investment to have an auto-start system.
