  • "Written for the screen by Michael and Fay Kanin. Based on their 1959 Broadway play "Rashomon." Which was adapted from the classic 1950 Japanese film "Rashomon" directed by Akira Kurosawa. The source material should be given credit.

  • I don't see the source material getting any credit every time I watch PSYCHO. :-)

  • kurusawa gets screenplay credit

  • The woman screeching at 2:17 while trying to imitate the japanese actress in roshomon. Well that works only for japanese language. Here it looks like as if the exorcist posessed her suddenly :)

  • paul newman is king!

  • only saw this recently, but was quite blown away..a superb adaptation, great cast / script / photography....really captured the flavour of the original...barely recognised newman, and Shatner..well...he is always a delight :)

  • one of the funniest movies ever made newmans mexican accent beats anything saturday night ever did and larry harveys southern accent is almost more absurd the only thing missing is herve vellachez and richardo montalban and montalban looking up getting the wrong cue and saying da plane da plane this is one mixed up movie folks

  • I love that the announcer talks this up like it's a wholly original work. Maybe he should have tried, "Coming soon, an astonishing new picture that this is a remake of a ridiculously amazing Japanese movie! It stars Paul Newman's baby blue eyes and his bad Mexican accent! The original film won the Golden Lion at the Venice Film Festival and this is clearly an inferior remake! But hey, no subtitles, so it's a tradeoff!* Bring all the kiddies for a fun family experience!"

    *Also no Toshiro Mifune.

  • I saw all of the movie but the last few minutes. In the end who's story was the truth? I would love to know!!! If you know please tell!

  • Haha William Shatners the Priest
