Those who believe in God who is Love carry within an invincible hope, like a lamp with which to cross the night after death, and arrive at the great celebration of life, said Pope Benedict Sunday, before the midday Angelus prayer. Speaking from the window of his study overlooking St Peter's Square, he commented on the Sunday Gospel and the parable of the ten maidens invited to the wedding feast. The Pope said the oil in their lamp is a symbol of love, received as a gift and put into practice. We must take advantage of our earthly life to carry out works of mercy, because after death is no longer possible.
