  • The willow warblers only arrive in May as they are a summer migrant. They migrate from west Africa, around the ivory coast. A lot warmer than here, even at the height of our summer. The blackbird is hardier and can even be heard singing in February if it is a really mild day! However late April is their ideal breeding time.

  • nice duet! do you get to hear this every day?

  • Unfortunately not! The willow warblers do not arrive in large numbers until May.
