A day in the life of the artist as he prepares for his exhibition 'Painting and All Prima Studies.' James Gillick discusses the inspiration behind his work and demonstrates his tradtional approach to painting; making his own paints from pigment and painting from life.
James Gillick (b.1972) lives and works in Louth, Lincolnshire. Notable commissions include; His Holiness Pope John Paul II, Rt. Hon. Baroness Thatcher and the Very Rev. M. Couve de Murville, Archbishop of Birmingham. James is the son of social critic Victoria Gillick and cousin to 2002 Turner prize nominee Liam Gillick, and comes froma long line of artists and artisans.
