  • @wrestlepwn later in his career this is how he vaulted. He jumped like this at the 2008 Olympic trials. And when I talked to him about it he said his average runway speed was faster pushing than when carrying.

  • @1team1dream09 it looks like hes vaulting in a competition like that! maybe he has like a wrist/arm injury?

  • He cleared 18'8" okay, but he didn't clear 6.16m. And mechanically yes, it does slow you down...

  • @1team1dream09 up until certain heights? He jumped 18'8 like this. He actually started doing it because he broke his left wrist and could not carry the pole back in college, and when he got older he thought he would give it a try again. He jumped 19'6 carrying the pole in his hay day. But pushing the pole does not slow you down, he actually ran a lot faster pushing, but the mechanics of the plant help move the pole into the pit, that is why most people do not push the pole.

  • @wrestlepwn Probably because he was planting late. This ensures that he won't and while it does slow him down, he will automatically have a high spot on plant. It's actually somewhat viable up until a certain height.

  • why?????
