Fred Ziari won the award for international projects in science, entrepreneurship, and philanthropy.
Fred Ziari is recognized as one of the nation's foremost water resource management leaders for his innovative pioneering efforts in developing modern irrigation technology and conservation. He and his firm, IRZ Consulting, have many "firsts" to their credit in combining agricultural engineering expertise with technologically advanced irrigation monitoring and resource conservation to produce optimum results and peak efficiencies for their clients.
Mr. Ziari has personally been involved in over 1000 irrigation designs, system evaluations, project development and conservation projects throughout his professional career. He has been recognized as "Agricultural Engineer of the Year" by the Pacific NW Section of the American Society of Agricultural Engineers and he was inducted in the Oregon State University "Agricultural Hall of Fame."
Fred is one of the founder's and serves as Chair of Farmer's Ending Hunger, a non-profit organization created to connect farmers & growers with community agencies to provide direct support.
