Vintage Band Festival: Yankee Doodle Dandy

The Dodworth Saxhorn Band performs Yankee Doodle Dandy at a "Lunch, Learn and Listen" performance at Butler's Steak & Ale in Northfield, Minnesota as part of Vintage Band Festival 2010.

The Dodworth Saxhorn Band is a recreation of one of America's first all-brass bands and creates fun and excitement through 19th century authenticity. The ensemble of up to 17 members dresses the part, performs music from that period on original instruments, and uses drama, poetry, dance, and audience participation to help bring America's musical past to life.

Lockwood Theater Company uses recordings by the Dodworth Saxhorn Band as part of our pre-show entertainment when presenting our 19th century melodrama, Jesse.

I haven't been to Northfield since my aunt and uncle got married there in

1950. Married 60 years. Died last year.

I live in Los Angeles now. I'll tell you the difference between California

and Minnesota. California has nicer weather. Minnesota has nicer

people.
