3 of 5 from "Welding" on Modern Marvels from The History Channel.

Half science and half art, the ancient technology of welding is integral to modern life. It is the process of bonding, as simple as banging two metals together or as sophisticated as interlinking molecules with sound waves, and without it, the modern world around us - from cars to buildings to pipes that deliver clean water - would not exist.

  • @DaGamer500 You need to be able to swim of course and the ability to get a TWIC card

  • @AceSmoov88 Any qualifications needed?

  • The people who disliked this probably do not know how to weld.

  • How can I cite this video for a paper that I am writing about this topic?? please help!

  • And do you need a passport??

  • Im already a certified SMAW and FCAW welder and thinking bout going to CDA in Jacksonville. Is that school a good choice??

  • @deertrack821 Thanks man, very helpful! Last question: In this video, wet welding looks like they're using a stick welding set-up. Is that basically what type of welding it is? And should I choose a school that is ADCI (Association of Diving Contractors) credited? Thanks again!

  • @budget666 Yes I work for Global, now owned by Technip. As far as school goes, find the cheapest one. All you need is the certification card you get after completing the school. After that it is all on the job training to learn your job. And you will have to be schooled and certified through your company you work for to wet weld like I did.

  • @deertrack821

You work for Global Industries? Or is it another company? I'm looking for the best/legit school or company to learn Underwater welding. I just TIG wed, but I have to get into this. So awesome! Thanks.

  • @TheThreeTittiedCow good luck bro. that's fuckin awesome.
