@daaaaavie Yeah, you're right, a whole step is F#. Was not thinking. Either way I'm not the guy who said down to F, which is what people tune tubas to.
-
@ThaDeeStylee F is one half-step above E. for ur own sake i strongly advise etc etc
-
@ThaDeeStylee F-B-E-A-C-F, you don't see it all the time but they do it!
-
@TheMetalWarrior1993 Dude... not that F. Do you have any idea how low that would be? Brutal ass death metal bands tune to B and A. They tune UP to F. One whole step above E standard. For your own sake, I strongly advise you to learn more about music and music theory before you go around sharing your thoughts on musicianship as if they were facts.

@ThaDeeStylee Actually most modernized bands always tune down to F or even lower, they started doing that hell of long ago like in the 70's and it just got more popular in the 90's. And solos have a lot to do with technicality if the band categorizes themselves as "technical thrash" or whatever. But your right, a lot of thrash bands out there aren't really that type, most of them are just the fast paced riffs & drums. Imo Testament is better, I don't have to find an album, just listen to any one
-
@TheMetalWarrior1993 Solos have next to nothing to do with technicality as far as thrash goes. Almost all of it has to do with the riffs/drumming and general song structure.
-
@TheMetalWarrior1993 Classically trained or not, I've listened to plenty of Testament, seen them live too, and they're way less complex with their song structure. I wasn't talking about solos at all. Not many bands tune to F... so that's another thing that stands out about them. If you can listen to this whole album and tell me a Testament album that matches it melodically or technically, then do it.
-
@ThaDeeStylee What??? This is NOT more technical than Testament... Alex Skolnik is classically trained, listen to his solos and tell me he isn't more technical than this. I didn't mean EXACTLY the same I just meant that it was trying to be like in the same type of thrash like style. And ohhh, big deal they're tuned to F, so what?
-
@TheMetalWarrior1993 Dude... these guys are more in the vein of Obliveon, and Mekong Delta... and they're more than twice as tech than any of the bands you named. Plus they're tuned up to F, more melodic than practically any other thrash band, and their singer david screams like a fucking possessed eagle.
If you can listen to this and say it's just more of the same, you should probably never try to say anything about metal music ever again.
The album cover reminds me of the original Metroid. Fucking love this band, there isn't a song I DON'T like, his voice is killer, their rhythm is always fucking awesome.
