  • Yet the media never portray the victim massacred by the NVA. They only portray the losing, the bad stuff that was going on in South Vietnam. No wonder the American lose the war.. They lose it to their own people, and to their allies. But 58 thousand and 125 thousand ARVN fought bravely. You men are our Hero.

  • The poor uneducated Vietnamese ended up with totalitarian communism because they didn't help the US soldiers identify the VC. To be fair to them, they were terrified of the VC because they knew they didn't have any conscience and didn't follow Geneva rules. All the GI's I knew were decent honest guys who never abused any prisoners or civilians.

The news media never mentioned the VC slaughter. What the hell, were the commies controlling the media clear back in 1968?

  • @historatia you think you understand our history, but when I read your comment, you don't even understand the basic of it. Our history built on each and every individual Vietnamese, fighting the French was not only the number of Dead Vietnamese that you gave out, but you should consider the number of each and every individual Vietnamese. Every Vietnamese is a hero when it comes to overthrow the French colonizers. Here we're taking about the COLD WAR!

  • @trandzuyhieu You are absolutely correct. I believe that had the U.S.A had not pulled out and not stopped the air support for the south it would be a country similar in prosperity to South Korea today.

  • Toàn comment việt nam bằng tiếng đéo gì vậy

  • @ajbur321 I don't disagree, but don't forget that the US government was truly afraid of escalation of the war if we invaded North Vietnam. By escalation, I mean China entering it.

  • @flintstone9812 I was assigned with the 2/5, crossed the Perfume River into Hell. Semper Fi. 44th anniversary from Hell!

  • Its on black ops

  • @trandzuyhieu And what are the over 3,300,000 DEAD Vietnamese that died in their 25 year fight for independence from the French and American colonizers. The Vietnames 5,000 were not "for nothing". They were heroes for their eventual victory and the chance to breathe clean fresh Vietnamese air. They too love their independence even if you want to go on this phony anti-communist rant. Vietnam was NONE of your business, and all of your "power" couldn't win, even with the Mylai's.

  • Sorry to say you loose the war like french, and you don't have to be proud to destroy the Viet nam as you done !!!

  • It might have helped if the US had been fighting the same war as the NVA. The US was fighting against the spread of communism, the NVA were fighting to re-unify their country.

Also, it should always be remembered that the US destroyed large areas of Vietnam, wiping out swathes of tropical rainforest with dioxin spray, napalm and carpet bombing.

The American war in Vietnam was a madness born of the second world war and the collapse of European empire.

  • The VC killed thousands of innocent people there!! 10 times worst than any My Lai massacre. A fact that so many forget, including Vietnamese sadly.
