@SouthOCmixdown so true, mate. nowadays,,it would be just a bunch of overly-tattooed kids in perfectly tailored clothes standing around, with their faces buried in a $1000 smartphone or laptop, watching a reality tv show about a band 1,000,000 miles away. im ashamed to be british knowing that we are chiefly responsible for the spawning that evil. AND LONG LIVE THE PINK FLOYD!!!!!!!

@siouxie921 ... even while the remaining members tried to tell us about him throughout the 70s!

@siouxie921 Dude, *all* of the members of Pink Floyd rallied to support their brother artistically and conceptually. How cynical that you'd call someone pouring out their feelings from the deepest parts of their psyche 'exploitation'? Furthermore, if Roger Waters was such an egomaniac, why didn't he try to bury all traces of Syd... rather than make him the centerpiece of 2 albums?
I read accounts about UFO Club in Shaffner's book. From that I imagined it to be a multi-colour drenched, gel-overlayed, freakout fest, lubricated by pounds of dropped acid. Come to find out, it looks more like a bunch of guys jamming in someones white-walled bedroom. With pedestrian-looking, Watusi-ing British teenagers bopping about. And one average visual effect generator doing its thing. So quaint. Such great times, I'm sure. Too bad bands cant get famous this way anymore.
