SORRY if i havent included your fav, i would have liked to have included Crawford, Shearer, Russell, and loads more but I wanted a maximum of 20 and it was very hard to narrow it down.

So many times have I watched films and thought aww she's pretty, or she's gorgeous! Very few times have a been stunned though.

This list is only MY opinion of the most beautiful actresses pre-1960, mainly the classic Hollywood era. Each lady in the list is a true beauty, who even today would turn heads.

Maureen O hara is one of the only actresses from this list still alive and i think its a crime she has not received an honorary oscar yet.Common she deserves it more than many of the people who got it in the past couple of years !!!

I think Taylor is very pretty but to me she has a slight look of softness that seems to be a look of weakness in her face that keeps her from being the most beautiful. Viv has no such look but looks very feminate, refined and royal, but somehow fiery and mysterious all at the same time.
