Nur Bano is the story of a family that becomes the victim of cruel traditions, which shatter the happiness of the entire family. Nur Bano is an orphan who has been brought up in the haveli of her uncle, Agha Jee. He runs the affairs of the haveli with an iron fist, where women are suppressed and not allowed to take decisions on their own. It is because of this that his daughter Sara runs away in the dark of the night with her lover, leaving a permanent mark of shame on her family, especially her father. He now lives with the constant fear that Nur Bano will also do the same, but in contrast, Nur Bano in the epitome of modesty and is grateful to her uncle for providing her with a home. She takes care of Agha Jee, his wife Bay Jee and their son Agha Meerash, and manages the affairs of the entire household so well that over time Agha Jee forgets Saras disloyalty.
