  • This is the best version of the song EVER! :D

  • where was this?

  • @yargnodrog the garage sound is the latest cool sound? Garage rock has been the cool sound since the 60's. Go put that Dolly Parton record on and finish weeding the yard. If you don't get it, don't try.

  • love the crowd at the beginning

  • @TheRagnaroak Well I certainly respect your right to voice your opinion and more so your right to do so;however,I simply can't fathom what's so great about the cover of a song(a great song)that has been reduced to what to me sounds like the screeching of cat that just had it's tail stepped on.I'm not even a C&W fan for the most part;I simply think Parton is good writer&singer.I understand the Garage sound is the latest COOL sound.I just don't see the writing insperation here;he didn't write it!

  • @yargnodrog dont be silly

Just because a song is popular doesn't mean it's good. Anyone who has listened to the radio in the passed 10 years would know that. I have listened to the original and don't think it could even stand next to this one.

  • @marcw93 I hate to screw with your insperation or Karma but where did you gain any insperation to write music from Jack White concerning this song? "Jolene" was written by country music icon Dolly Parton released as the A-side single in late 1973;the B-side was titled "Lonley Coming Down" Parton later released it on her album titled "Jolene" in 1974; the song quickly rose to #1 on the country charts. You should listen to Parton's version and hear "REAL" singing, being wierd doesn't mean good.

  • Jack White IS my inspiration to write music. He is my only hero.
