  • I generally agree re Schoenberg, but this is an eye-opener. I love the Brahms original; I certainly like this orchestration too. Re "not meant to be an orchestral work," do you object to the orchestration of Pictures at an Exhibition?

  • Thank you for uploading this peace!!!

  • Is this orchestra famous in Germany?

  • HappyWandy457, it is refreshing to hear this music , enriched by such big monsters as Brahms and its interpreter Schoenberg, who brings us his magnifiscense of feeling and intuition how this monumental work could be worked out. The colouring is still Brahms even with such big developed melisms in this modernised orchestration. Great performance of the Londoner

musicians and wonderfuly rehearsed by Paavo Jarvi.

  • @rouler97 Go suck a bag of dicks. Schoenberg is class!

  • 3 people don't like great composers

  • first time I've heard this.

    sounds like Brahms 5th

Arnold did have his shit together!

  • muy bien!! me gusta mucho!!

  • @rouler97 It's always amusing when ppl voice this sort of nonsense about Schoenberg. For one, his oeuvre spans nearly 60 yrs and ranges in style from Brahmsian/Struassian to the chromaticism for which he's famous, so unless you hate all intervening styles, your opinion is incoherent. For another, his music is beloved the world over. On any given day, it is being played by dozens of orchestras and chamber groups. It will be remembered long after you're dead and forgotten. So try some humility.

  • es increible la melodia de esta obra, es magica.

De lo mejor que he escuchado en mi vida.

  • We don't have to know too much about music to enjoy it! Surely too much musical education will make audiences become boring snobs, and we'd never fill auditoriums! Just enjoy.
