That's incorrect. Every year for at least four years leading up to Katrina there were levee board officials warning that the levees had subsided and were no longer at even category 3 hurricane protection.

Just to set this straight, levees in New Orleans were blown up in the past. However, they were not blown up during Katrina, nor were they breached: the levees were either overtopped or failed altogether.

My source? The guy who was charge of the St. Bernard Parish levees during Katrina. If you want to argue against me then you better pull out a better source.

its worse than that.Bush was warned about the hurricane when it hit the southern tip of Florida.The mayor ordered an evacuation of all of southern Louisiana.Katrina hit New Orleans and the levees broke.After he got done with McCaines' birthday party he went to California on a speeking tour and then said"I dont think anyone anticipated the breach of the levees."Dont you think he would have known in the three days between the levees breaking and his so important tour in California?
