It seems lots of people do not or refuse to understand the process or theory behind this car. You should see the comments accompanying the Nissan promo video. As the old saying goes. "You can't judge a book by it's cover". but it doesn't matter if your intelligence prevents you from even opening it. Glad to see that in this forum there is at least one person who gets it. Cheers!

@operationnorthwoodz this car is in le mans and will be no where near anything with street tires. And if it does make it to the production racing stage, there will be regulations changes to make it fair. The lack of downforce makes the delta wing pass the EXTREMELY more powerful cars on the straights yet it can keep up in the turns. Where your problem with this car is coming from I have no idea. Innovation. Tying new things. That is what le mans started out as. So why are you criticizing a car

BFD a $10,000 Formula 3 car with a 300hp turbo would kick its ass, even without a ground effects chassis. Even a $5,000 Formula Ford 1600 non-turbo with 100hp and treaded street tires can easily pass a full-race twin-turbo 911 with massive slicks on a twisty track. No weight limit + unlimited ground effects = CHEATING. Poor visibility by both the driver and other drivers = DEATHTRAP. Batmobile racin is IDIOCRACY. Keep the efficiency/austerity/poverty off the race track.

I don't think burning fuel is as big of a deal, as the waste in tires. The thing about tires is that when they throw them out they just get stacked up in the middle of nowhere and left to rot.
