Come on...IPOD 2g followed instructions and can't get the white screen.
Here's the messages;
Put into DFU mode and press Start Pre-Jailbreak
Starting Pre Jailbreak. Please wait... iPod placed into recovery mode, applying patch... iPod connected in DFU mode, press Start Pre-Jailbreak
It'll just keep saying that over and over. Please provide more info...
