I keep thinking "under god". MY MIND!
-
@LEOJ024 That was back when run-on sentences were still cool.

Goes deeper than just "God" not mentioned. It is the indoctrination of children to a dogma that is against our inalienable rights as a free people. Just teach the constitution but stop the Pavlov style brainwashing. There should also be a separation of education and state.

This nation was built because people were fleeing religious persecution....NOT based upon any of "God's Rules". That is why the US Constitution has a separation of Church and State. In order to keep the same persecution from taking place in this country.

@hs41982 You can have a pledge without god. I am an american and I don't beleive in god, this world was not created by a random always exsiting being, so why do I have to recite your theocratic under god? there is no reason.
Under god was inserted because militant christans wanted to make this a more "christian nation". They don't want other religions in america, they hate freedom, they want america to be like it was in the 1800.

god should not be mentioned in a pledge of allegiance to a tyrannical government

Created and promoted by the Bellamy socialists to promote their aim of instilling the un-American value of fealty to government. There have been several revisions. This is the second-to-last one. The purpose remains the same. God was added to try to make it sound a little less like something out of the Soviet Union. Did it work?
