I was bored and decided to showcase my white epiphone TBird bass. It is a nice bass to play whilst seated, standing can be a bit of a pain with the typical neck dive, unless you get used to it. The jack for the lead came apart a couple of times but all that needed was to be re-bolted in. Everything on it, such as pickps etc is stock as i bought it, no modifications. The thunderbird bass first came out in 1967, in its sunburst finish, and if you look at the older birds, their pick-ups had chrome coatings on them. Up untill 1981 gibson re-issued it. Kings of leon bassist uses this model (not that i'm a fan). Tbird players i can think of are jeff pilson from dokken (breaking the chains video clip, it's red) and of course, John Entwistle from THE WHO who apparently according to wiki smashed one in frustration. Anyway nice bass, pretty famous model too. enjoy.

  • you've showcased your bass and bass skills real nice! what do you think about the humbucker pickups compared to the j and p bass style pickups?

  • @islandboy40 to be honest there's not much of a difference to me, i probably depends on the brand of the pickups i guess if they're any good

  • NIkki sixx plays thunderbirds as well, the bassist of motley crue!!

  • @1cruefan4life he also has one of those spector tbirds

  • You forgot Twiggy from marilyn manson, how can someone with the exactly the same bass as him don't know him??

  • @Aureliano0Peachdoor i haven't really listened to marylin manson, i googled twiggy, he indeed has the same bass : )

  • hanks for the video ! I have bought this bass last week. The new thunderbird white have the strap button on the neck plate as a bolt, and it comes with chrome hardware, like the original thunderbird from sixties, but I prefer rather the black hardware..

  • @thebasscollector89 yeh, nikki played those in late eighties and the 90's but now i only see him playing thunderbirds

  • @RecklezzPlayer it's got passive pickups

  • u r awesome beautiful bass i got a cherry red version

  • Mine is also the epiphone custom shop white, but it also has chrome hardware for some reason. lol. its awesome!!

  • hello, nice bass u have. i think i'm going to buy 1 myself, but just wanna ask that does it have passive or active pickups?
