Maize is the third most important cereal crop in Bangladesh, after rice and wheat. It can be cultivated year-round. The crop is high yielding, rich in nutrition, and has diversified uses. This production focuses on proper cultivation practices, such as seed bed preparation, seed rate, optimum planting time, fertilizer application, irrigation timing, weed and insect control, optimum harvesting time, post harvest processing, and different end-uses.
