When I worked with Corelli he told me this was his first opera role. He had problems with high notes at first. He got his top fixed by singing baritone arias. He learned how to keep the sound connected to the ring. He is successful with the aria but it is not his best. It was, however, his best study piece. Listen to him sing Sicilian songs or Ballo...something volcanic happens when he sings music which has more heroic nobility: French is not his thing in my opinion.

E FRanco fa il suo meglio...e,quello che non possiamo chiedere in quanto a pronunciazione(ma Dio!Non siamo gramatici..ma dilettanti_!!!!)lo ripienano la sua voce incomparabile...e la sua ,eravigliosa bellezza di uomo sensuale,erotico per natura.
