MUST SEE Idiot Driver + Amtrak #8 in Mauston 1-16-10

I usually dont use "must see" in a title but you have to see it to believe it. I was planning to get a nice video of Amtrak and it felt that way until a tan colored SUV drove up to the gates and went right around them like it was nothing. He had less than five seconds until impact by a 70mph train. If the police asked if I had witnesses an SUV driving around the gates at the Hickory Street crossing I would have said yes and that I had caught it on video. Hopefully that person gets a major fine for something stupid like that.
Anyway, the focal point of the video is Amtrak 8, the eastbound Empire Builder passing through town about 7 minutes late.

...also this struck me as funny (read: stupid) "If I was that engineer I would have put ehr in Notch 8 and hit the Jackass"......either you missed alot of your physics classes or you were not smart enough to take them in the first place. He'd need a warp drive straight out of star trek or something to accelerate fast enough to hit him by the time he saw him. But hey, have fun discussing it at Randalls.

....now i'm not advocating racing trains but when you get people saying that you should have called the police or taken down his lic # I can't help but think that you people should shut the fuck up and get your own lives.....hell, atleast look on the bright side, if he had gotten smoked that would be one less moron in this worthless town.....and most likely everyone on the train would have been fine....before you call me out on it research some car v train accident reports.....

um....ok, so granted he is a moron but what are you people all bitching about? Of course he shouldn't have skipped the gates to beat a train, thats stupid, BUT he was half a block away by the time the train went by. Obvioulsy he looked down the tracks, saw the train and knew he had PLENTY of time to get across. If a cop had been there I'm sure he would have gotten a ticket (altho thats giving waaaay too much credit to our keystone cop police force)......
