I am a jazz/rock/fusion drummer. Our artistic concepts evolve and change as our lives move forward, new collaborators are embraced, etc. Some people don't gravitate as much to passion and intensity. But when I witnessed Jason's mad skills in San Francisco Oct 1, 2008, I was blown away! I happen to respond most to artists who have devoted themselves enough to master the technique they need and then deploy that hard won knowledge and play as if each performance could be their last!

I have lived in the south of spain and have heard this music in various styles. I am by no way an expert, but your style is your style and nobody has to say anything about that. Gitanoz and other like him annoy me. Jason rocks! Question: you are referring to Rajagopal playing the "Tablas". Sometimes he made it sound like a cajon, other times like the Indian tabla. It sounded great. Do you ever play with anyone on the darbuka?

PS: One of the things that makes music interesting is the dynamics. Jason uses them expertly. Go to school.
