part 2......... In 1841, the German linguist and poet August Heinrich Hoffmann von Fallersleben wrote the lyrics of "Das Lied der Deutschen" to Haydn's melody, lyrics that were considered revolutionary at the time.

So playing that song has absolutely NOTHING to do with the Nazis what so ever, it existed well before them and is a slap in the face to Germany.

I just thought I would note this is actually not the full Nazi anthem. Only the first stanza of Deutscheland Uber Alles was the anthem of Nazi Germany. In this video, that would be the song up until the 1:07 mark. After that, the Nazis would then play the Horst Wessel Lied, which was a song about the SA. Additionally, the last stanza, which starts at 2:20 is actually the anthem of the Federal Republic of Germany today, and is about unity, freedom, and justice, which contradicts Hitler's Germany.
