Rubinstein is over 90 years old in this video, and almost completely blind, but his mind was not diminished at all. If it is somewhat painful to watch him try to find his place on the keyboard, but once he does, he makes music as beautifully as he ever did.
The greatest piano recital I ever heard in my life was Rubinstein in 1972. That luminous sound he created seems to still be in my ears, and certainly in my heart.

This video presentation, showing Rubinstein expressing his piano playing technique and then seeing his instructions performed by a student, is truly very special. You may Watch, listen, and learn from it, then repeat what you take away with you to your musical instrument or simply keep what you learn in your mind.

"Grandioso - not pompous".... the best critique I ever heard. Bravo Rubenstein!

Rubenstein is such a cherub! Always preferred him to Horowitz. To this day, I believe he is the greatest Chopinist who ever lived.

@nikumuMINA There is a big difference between Rubinstein and some "anonymous dude" to those of us who can hear the difference.

@rekab7070 tell what the difference between him touching key and a very good but anonymous dude playing the same piece as him.

The world stops when Rubinstein begin to play at 2:55 til 3:30. There are not words in this world to describe such beauty.
