Sigue Sigue Sputnik were masterminded by ex-Generation X basist Tony James in his vision of a futuristic glam rock'n'roll, together with Martin Degville & Neal X referencing T.Rex, Eddie Cochran, New York Dolls, Malcolm McLaren, Elvis, Johnny Thunders and numerous sci-fi films.
This video was filmed at one of their very first gigs, Electric Cinema in Portobello Road, by Don Letts, before they were signed to EMI. It is edited to the pre-EMI, pre hits & hype version of the song (from 'The First Generation' FREUDCD055E).

The video is filmed in June 1985 at The Electric Cinema, Portobello Road by Don Letts. It's dubbed with music from the pre-EMI demos, recorded 1983-85 (from 'The First Generation' on Jungle FREUDCD055E). They signed to EMI and released 'Flaunt It' in 1986. SSS were long in the planning; you can see them backstage working as Johnny Thunders & Heartbreakers' road crew in the DVD filmed at the Lyceum in March 1984 (on the 'Dead Or Alive' and the outakes 'Down To Kill' FREUDCD084 DVDs). So there!
