I backed Colonel John to win this race. I was rooting for Colonel John to win this race. But when I watched it live, I thought for sure that Mambo in Seattle had just nipped Colonel John by a whisker on the wire. I remember cursing like a sailor after they crossed the wire, because I just knew Mambo in Seattle had won the Travers. LOL. I couldn't believe when they announced Colonel John had actually won in the official photo!!

Me too i live about 20 mins from the track. should be another great travers race this year.

I thought his call was good up until the end. "Its gonna be a photo finish in the Traveerrrrrrrrrs... To close to Call!" He could have fit something more creative in there.

I thought for sure CJ lost it- look at the finish! MIS is clearly ahead. anyway, CJ did deserve this after being tugged around coming off the turn.

Absolutely classic watching these two horses dig it out. Mambo isn't consistent, but he's got class, so has C. John...I was absoultely SCREAMING at the end (my pick, Macho Again, was like...eighth :( ). Tom Durkin dissapointed me a little with his call, but the end was amazing enough.

What a thriller this was! Colonel John got it by the flare of a nostril. What guts he showed coming down the stretch.
