Is this what they mean in AA that you need the community in the beginning, but after a while you "get a life" outside of the AA community? The reason I ask is that I work in the addictions field and I see a lot of people who leave their addiction to drugs and/or alcohol, but AA becomes another addiction, and they are uncomfortable outside of that community, even after many, many years.
