I remember i heard them for the first time ( `92 )....
and the struggle i had to go through to learn the drumparts . I could not understand why someone would dislike this music . I filed it in the cabinet that says :
Mandatory Metal .

@domaanator Rand Burkey of Atheist did play guitar upside down. His mom owned a music store but would not let him restring or some thing to that effect. So he learned upside down. Weird eh.

@nothingfocus Damn right! Alot of people are just, short sighted. It's true of most genres or sub-genres of music, but especially in extreme music - once you put something serious into it that goes beyond, say, mosh pit brake-downs, people get turned off...Atheist = thinking man's death metal. I'd say the same of the latter Death material - also ridiculously under appreciated.

hey guys, sorry - clarification - NOT IN THIS VID WERE THEY BOO'ED, it was a show i went to back in the day and idiots were boo'ing them because they just didn't "get it" so they thought it funny to just boo them. Cynic got the same response in 1994 with Cannibal Corpse fans, pissed me off!
