One creationist in Louisiana is striving to take the Bible from the church and into the classroom, arguing that it is un-American not to allow students to learn different views of how the world was created. While it is not illegal to teach creationism in public schools, most science teachers opt to teach evolution alone. Dave Prentice wants to change that.

  • I love how he says he can't prove creationism BUT he wants it in the schools anyway.

Guess what...scientists proved evolution by putting together real evidence and fossil records to show the process. They also mapped out the entire DNA of man to show that we can and do evolve.

People are more likely to beleive in evolution with a higher education because educated people have a dedication to the truth. They don't just want to be right they want to learn how the world really works.

  • "...the more educated a person is, the less likely they'll believe in creationism, and that's why he wants it taught in the classroom."

Do... Do I even have to say anything?

  • I always find it so funny that in the US being an elite is something bad. In the majority of the world it's a positive thing.

  • Why not teach the creation story of the olympian pantheon too then? With Zeus and all that. And the norwegian religion with Odin and the world tree and the frost giants? Or the egyptian one? Etcetera etcetera etcetera... Why only the christian creation "theory"?

  • America was never a "christian nation". Stop using this argument and even IF it was, that absolutely NO effect on the validity of The Theory of Evolution by means of Natural Selection.

  • There is a creator of humans and he has big black eyes and gray skin and he's not all that intelligent

  • His beliefs are as heard to listen to as his face is hard to look at.

  • Hand of Protection? God is a paladin!

  • We have a teacher that doesn't know the Constitution. O.o How nice.

  • I'll agree to let the religionists have Creationism taught in public schools the day that Evolution is required to be taught every Sunday in churches, synagogues, and mosques. If the Creationists want to stand behind their plea to "Teach the Controversy" then let's make it fair. I'm sure that there are many teachers who would be more than willing to spend time on Sundays teaching evolution in places of worship. Heck, I would even give it a shot.

  • Publicly funded catholic schools in Canada teach evolution. Pope John Paul II affirmed his belief in evolution. It's really the only theory that make any sense.

    I can't believe it's still a debate/
