A mixed web media assignment for WEB207, a unit of study at Curtin University, Australia.

Inspired by Randy Pausch's Last Lecture on "Really Achieving Your Childhood Dreams" (http://www.cmu.edu/randyslecture/) and my lifelong dream of riding a dragon.

The video contains material from Randy Pausch's lecture video and from the accompanying powerpoint presentation (http://download.srv.cs.cmu.edu/~pausch/Randy/Randy/pauschlastlecture.ppt). Pictures of Professor Pausch were sourced from the Internet.

The music is "Voyage of Destiny" by Paul Mottram, purchased from audionetwork.com and available through YouTube AudioSwap.

Otherwise, the video is a montage of screenshots captured from World of Warcraft and manipulated to insert photographs of myself into a simple narrative - a quest to find my dragon.

Special thanks to Andy for his help taking pictures, and Anne McCaffrey for my lifelong obsession with riding my very own bronze dragon.

If you enjoyed this video, please share and spread it around! This is my first attempt at editing digital video, and feedback is most welcome (and encouraged).

  • The bit at the end always makes me tear up. It may be silly but what can I do. This is such a fantastic little video. <3

  • @singingplanet oh you are SO not alone in that! I made the darn thing. I've seen it hundreds of times. I STILL get damp eyes and a runny nose! I'm so glad you like it! <3
