In TX, it's illegal to drive without car insurance. It is not just protecting yourself. When causing an accident, you are better able to pay for the victim's car and bodily damages. Likewise in health insurance, unless you can prove to me you will never get sick, our pool of money will be drained by your uninsured self. You're right, we don't have enough options, but completely opting out of insurance is grossly irresponsible. Also why cost is high. That's self-centeredness, not individualism.

There'll be nothing "Easy and Cheap" about Obamacare. Whether it's a nazi-ish program I'll leave open for debate, but the idea that people will just walk into the doctor's office and get free health care is completely naieve. As far as cheap, I have yet to see a single government-run program that isn't twice as expensive as its private-sector counterpart to run. There's a reason Nancy Pelosi wanted everybody to read the health care bill only AFTER they voted it into law.

The girl was simply expressing her opinion and wanted an answer from Barney Frank. He was very rude in replying, "What planet do you live on?" He followed by saying that having a conversation with the girl was like talking to a table. Nobody stood up in her defense and challenged him. @natelusk77 No, asshole, by you not having insurance, you are doing just that, hurting me and everyone else who does because we are forced to pick up the bill every time someone without insurance goes to the emergency room and does not pay the bill. There is no fucking mandate that you get insurance. But if you do not get insurance, you will pay a penalty when you file your taxes.
