Breathe Today by Flyleaf (guitar and bass)

This is take two of our cover of Flyleaf's "Breathe Today." The first one wasn't completely awful, but we just thought we could do a lot better. My guitar is a lot quieter than I thought it was when we were recording it, which sucks, but oh well.

I find Flyleaf very pretentious. The pseudo christian lyrics matched with the whiny vocals make me cringe.

@SatanicalEve I find Flyleaf very awesome. I don't know what you think is so "pseudo" about the Christian lyrics or what is so "whiny" about the vocals. I think they both just rock. :D

I have nothing against flyleaf and their ilk of headbanging rock, but aside from whatever superficial emotions are present, there is no substance to the music. The same 3 or 4 power chords are played throughout with different rhythms-- that's it. The song writing is puerile and the melody is almost nonexistent. This type of rock can be awesome, when it is done by better bands. You guys seem relatively young; when you're older you'll be listening to better music for sure.

@cassisawesome1 I respect your opinion, and thanks for being polite unlike other people that have come on here just to hate on Flyleaf or our playing. I love Flyleaf and I think their music, even if most of it is pretty simple, is very powerful. This song isn't the best example, but their new music has improved tons as far as complexity goes. I'm three years older than I was when I posted this and I still love Flyleaf, although I listen to a lot of new bands as well that I hadn't heard before.

@ProudSpeakerofWhale Its great to hear that you're diversifying your music! Of course your favorite bands will always be your favorite bands. I agree that they have certainly matured as a band. Also, people have different tastes in music! Also, you're totally right; people are pretty rude on youtube. lol
