A walk through Freiburg with an intro in Alemannic("Alemannisch") language. The Alemannen, a mixture of many Germanic tribes and other peoples (ale mannen means all men), came from the north east of Germany to France(Alsace), Suisse, southwest Germany and west Austria in about 300 a.c., and still a language called Alemannisch is spoken in these countries by many people - it´s German, but not high German, and it is similar to middle high German from the middle ages.
The man on the video is telling about a walk through the forest nearby the rhine river, which seems to be a jungle like Amazonas.
The following music is an alemannic song called "S´Büwele molt...Schmetterling...." (In high German:Das Bübchen malt...
The little boy is painting...butterfly...)
The next song is from the seventh book of madrigals by Monteverdi, the name is "se pur destina".
Please excuse the bad quality, I have to find out, how to make it better, I had no experience with videos before end of February 07.
