  • Would you mind explaining HOW a WHEN The United States killed millions of Christians for their faith?

Stop believing your imagination. Jesus warned us in Matt 24 that even those who claim that Jesus is the Christ, will deceive many.

To many teachers, not enough students.

  • @Hooverdarnit It says "Saints" not christians. And the U.S. still exists as a country, so there is a lot of time left for many Saints to be killed there. You forgot about that. If it were just a matter of where many christians have been killed then the following countries would qualify, China, Sudan, all over Europe, Latin America. And you say that there are "To(sic) many teachers, not enough students. Again the opposite of what the bible says. Matt. 9:37, Luke 10:2 Continued....

  • @Hooverdarnit Continued--- Mat 9:37 Then He said to His disciples, "The harvest truly is plentiful, but the laborers are few.

Luk 10:2 Then He said to them, "The harvest truly is great, but the laborers are few; therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest.

Hsa 4:6 My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. you have rejected knowledge, I also will reject you from being priest for Me; you have forgotten the law of your God, I also will forget your children.

Because I am studying Hebrew, for my own purposes, and not because a teacher or parent wants me to, I don't do merely the "assigned" homework, but all of it in the book. My study books were not free, I bought them off of Amazon, the books our teacher recommends. So I will continue studying, even over the summer break, on my own, apparently.

I am trying to do all I reasonably can, to become more mobile, while I pray for God to somehow do the rest, what I seemingly can't do.

What a delight it is, when doing my Hebrew reading, practicing pronunciation out loud, to hear familiar words, Biblical names, that sound nearly the same. Some "English" words, are actually transliterations of the Hebrew. And to come across words, that are already becoming familiar. I don't have much vocabulary, but we have covered most all the pronunciation rules.

I think we are studying Biblical Hebrew, similar I hope to the modern Hebrew. Sometimes we have fun exercises.

Not only will I understand the Bible better, reading it in the original Old Testament Hebrew, but I will be more prepared, to prosper hopefully, in Israel, if God will just show me how to make the move? I know they also speak English. But I don't want to be a marginalized immigrant. I want to fit in and be functional. I'd be delighted, if I can speak, understand, and worship God, in Hebrew, rather than in the pagan very-useful English only.

Study and work hard, to be worthy

Look at the story of Moses. He was well trained, in all the secular Egyptian studies. He may have even had private tutors, so he probably studied quite a lot. He got out of Egypt, after caring too much, murdered an Egyptian taskmaster beating a Jew slave. Lived in exile, I guess you could say, for 40 years. God later called Moses to lead his chosen people to freedom, away from the bondage of Egypt. Moses, for his much learning, could do little in his own power, his own way.

The reason I set my goal at only 2 pages a day of Hebrew, is that is about the proper pace to keep up with my free weekly Hebrew class at the Messianic fellowship I attend. Any slower, and I'd lose the investment of my time in learning a new language and soon forget my new skill. Any faster, and I'd get overwhelmed, for I have so much else to do. I'm pacing myself for ENDURANCE, as I want to master Hebrew, and be fluent in it, even be able to buy and read Hebrew books soon.

A relative scoffed at me, didn't think I'd really go anywhere. Now even some of my friends, imagine me leaving, I think they'd love to see me leave, and succeed. It may even encourage them to chase their own dreams.

If my friends can see me leaving, then why don't I have a calendar date yet? Where is my progress, in setting the dates and in getting packed? I've taken little steps, but I need lots more research, and I don't feel I am doing near enough.

    Leaving U.S. is hard.

  • @duskforce

Most every day, I pray to God, Send me to Israel, to live permanently. I don't see if it's even possible?

I have to have better attitude, or I'll never even make the effort to get out.

I figure that either I have to do hard work and dig ditches, or work hard on the studies that God allows me to do. I'd rather do the latter, and hope it's enough? I don't think God will let me be lazy and do nothing, if I'm going to get to where I want.

I'm slowly getting better at Hebrew

  • @duskforce

Like I said, I don't have all the answers, or I would have left Babylon America already.

I just just studying my minimum goal of 2 pages of Hebrew study per (most) days. I'm just about to the end of the book, and yet, when I start, it still looks so foreign to me. Not long ago, I thought "forget other languages, let the world learn English." Dangerously American-centric view. Not good enough, if I want to prosper, perhaps in Israel?

Something God gave me to do,while waiting

  • @duskforce

There's expatriation websites and forums. Go find them, and read, read, read, and ask questions.

Dual citizenship, dual passports are nice to have, but complicated to get, and many of these options, are not for poor people like you, who have no money and no plan.

How much do you want to leave? Obviously, God can probably use you in America. Ask yourself and pray, how much do you want to leave, and are you really willing to do what it takes to get out? Then build your plan
