This sections contains my entire trip through the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. It's the first National Park that you go through on the trail and it is just fantastic. Highlights from this are my first encounter with a large mammal, an experience with a large crowd of people, and the highest point on the Appalachian Trail.

  • One great hike you did i loved the video's you shot along the way. If you see my comment i would really like to know what brand of video camera you used. The video was good and stable as you walked.

  • It's a Cannon Powershot 10.0 megapixel camera. Thanks for the comment.

  • Ya thats pretty bad that there not thru hiker friendly in smokies I heard that before. How far is the trail through the smokies hopefully not that far so you can get out quick. It soor of how CT is with Truck drivers.

  • I believe it's about 60 miles or so. That sounds about right. I always found a spot in a shelter... but people who snore really loud should NEVER SLEEP IN THE SHELTERS EVER EVER EVER!!!

  • wind kinda interupts you at 7:35...

  • Yeah, I know. I decided to put the vids on whether or not that happened. Sorry if it's unbearable.

  • I love the GSMNP!

  • @Tuts999 Snoring...yikes! That is one of the main reasons why I hardly ever sleep at Shelters. I sleep around them because it is usually just to loud and busy. BTW, I am section hiker - peakseeker

  • @BBarberful Feel free to message me through Youtube or at my website.

  • Neat video man! I love that park! Though I have to admit Cleingman's dome is very cold in the winter! LOL

  • On Isle Royale when I went backpacking, I didn't see any large mammals but the small mammals were remarkably brave. They would come right up to the shelter while your eating. This one rabbit sat on the step and ate grass for about 15 minutes without even looking at us.

  • I love the Smokies. I am going to do a bunch of short hikes from 4 days up to 2 weeks. Can't do a thru hike - yet. But I will be in the Smokey Mountains. Can't wait.

  • I really appreciate these videos. Keep it up!
