Quick inspection '32 Ford Coupe

Owner: Phil Becker

Powertrain: Although a simple 355, it doesn't mean it isn't worth attention. FastLane created an aluminum fan shroud that also incorporates a custom overflow tank. Up above a trio of Barry Grant Six Shooters (topped with O'Brien Truckers air cleaners) feed the V-8, and Jet-Hot coated smoothed Speedway Motors ram horn exhaust helps draw the exhaust through Stainless Works mufflers. A Gearstar 700-R4 transmission connects to a Sadler driveshaft in getting the power to the rear.

Outside: The original FoMoCo body features a 3/4-inch chop, with the rear window leaned slightly forward. Dave Lane sprayed the car with a custom-mixed DuPont Chroma Premier single-stage butterscotch paint.
The front aprons were handmade by Dave Lane, and Phil added a slight curve to the spreader bar. A lot of work here for some subtle results. The rear spreader bar was curved to match the shape of the body, but so was the gas tank! Phil Becker bent both spreader bars, and Dave Lane did the trick work on the gas tank.

Inside: A blend of traditional and contemporary, the interior features a custom seat made to fit the owner, by Dave and Sally Schober of Schober's Hot Rod Interiors. Espresso-colored leather was used throughout the car, including the stylish saddlebag door panel pockets (accented with Lime Works buckles). An early '60s Porsche steering wheel was downsized for this application and bolts to a polished Lime Works column. A '34 Plymouth gauge cluster was reworked by Classic Instruments and installed by FastLane along with wiring from Centech.

Wheels & Tires and Brakes: Knockoff Dayton Wire wheels (15x4.50 and 17x8) are wrapped in Diamondback 145R15 and 255/60-17 rubber that has had all of the raised sidewall tire information removed. The front brake calipers are GM, but the vented backing plates are custom by FastLane.
