I don't think Randy snitched to snitch or get out of trouble. I think he just needed to tell someone, it was eating him up inside. He probably thought his friends, especially Namond, would have just made fun of him. He wasn't a battle hardened thug, he was a kid who feels the guilt of a murder.

@hotfingersandwich Yeah it's ridiculous. Don't get me wrong Randy did snitch he told on other people to get his ass outta trouble. And I don't respect that. But the whole code of silence in the ghetto shit is stupid.
I can understand not telling on people for drugs or something. But to expect people to not say shit if you witness some murders or serious shit? Sounds like its designed only to protect criminals.

remember, it's just a movie

The combination of that incredible ending song and the tragedy of this scene just haunts you a little. Absolutely sublime.

Don't "snitch", huh? Jesus, what a hopeless culture. Well, at least Namond made it out of that hellhole and became a real human.

This one is on Herc. Fuck him and his camera.

I teared up on this scene. The most heartbreaking scenes on the Wire was:
1.Wallace getting killed."Yo man, yall my niggas yo.We boys.It aint gotta be like this yo.We niggas man,BC remember dat?Yall my niggas yo.It's us man.
2.Kima got shot.McNulty was messed up about that and he thought it was his fault.
3.Randy getting played by Sgt. Carver."You gonna look out for me?
4.Dukie ask Mike if he remember the pee ballons.Mike couldnt remember. All of that killing made him forget his childhood innocence
